Though best known as the bassist and lyricist of the Grammy nominated band Fall Out Boy, Pete Wentz is also entrepreneur and social philanthropist. In 2005, Pete founded the record label Decaydance, which has released acclaimed artists Gym Class Heroes, Panic at the Disco, and Cobra Starship, among others. Pete also launched a clothing line, Clandestine Industries, and joined forces with friends to create the nightclub “Angels & Kings,” a New York bar that was a favorite with the cast of MTV’s Real World Brooklyn. The bar has since expanded to locations in Chicago and Barcelona. Pete Wentz has also been active in international issues for some time. The video for Fall Out Boy’s song “Me and You” tells the story of two young people caught in civil war in Northern Uganda, and spreads the word about child soldiers who are taken from their families and forced into conflict. |
