How do I participate?
Step 1: Determine the Level of Commitment
Decide the level of pledge commitment that is right for you: Platinum (20,000 children’s lives saved), Gold (10,000 children’s lives saved) or Silver (2,000 children’s lives saved). See below for pledge levels and benefits.
Step 2: Register to be a Tap Project Restaurant Partner
Register to participate in the Tap Project by March 8, 2009.
Step 3: Promote the Tap Project to Your Customers
Using the materials in the Restaurant Activation Kit that you will receive in early March, begin spreading the word about your involvement in this important lifesaving campaign.
The U.S. Fund for UNICEF will also be working to promote the Tap Project through tapproject.org, national and local media and press outreach.
Step 4: Train Your Wait Staff
We recommend that you conduct a training session for your wait staff the week of March 16, 2009. You’ll receive training materials in your Restaurant Activation Kit, and a Tap Project Campaign Volunteer can help train your staff.
Step 5: Implement the Campaign During World Water Week
Display your choice of Table Tents or Customer Donation Cards that describe the Tap Project and invite patrons to donate. You’ll also receive simple programming instructions to guide you through integrating a Tap Project donation line into your POS system.
Step 6: Submit Your Donations
Beginning March 29, 2009, submit the amount of your original pledge commitment or the amount of donations collected from your customers (whichever is greater). You can even use your credit card to donate easily and securely at tapproject.org.
The Final Step? Celebrate Your Contribution
Your restaurant’s support has played an important role in helping to save children’s lives.
